Welcome to Miss or Muse!

Hi there! My name is Kaylee and I’m a graduate from the Asper School of Business who’s completed a Bachelor’s of Commerce in Marketing.

I had my heart set on business school since elementary school; I dreamed of becoming an accountant which admittedly is much less exciting than most 10 year olds ‘ dreams of becoming an astronaut or police officer. Nonetheless, I took all my studies seriously with the dream of becoming an accountant. Finally, in 2019, I graduated from high school and was accepted into Asper and I felt as though everything was falling into place. However, by the end of my first year in university I was beginning to have some doubts; I wasn’t enjoying accounting like I thought I would.

Marketing captured my heart so I made the difficult and scary decision to change my lifelong plan and switched my major to marketing. My love for analysis and writing and desire to demonstrate and grow my skills outside my job ended up in the creation of Miss or Muse.

Curious About Me?

I can’t say I enjoy public speaking; however, I do know it’s a strength of mine. A blessing and a curse. But enough business talk!

I’m secretly a 100-year-old woman in a young woman’s body. I enjoy the activities of a grandma — reading, writing, crochet, napping. I’m certainly more of a homebody; you can usually find me in 1 of 3 places: work, the gym, or home. I enjoy being outside, usually doing one of my old-lady hobbies. But I can be a great extrovert when needed! I enjoy the occasional night out, movie, paint night, and spontaneous excursion.

I’m a bubbly personality everywhere I go. I try to bring smiles to as many people as I can in a day, and sometimes all that takes is a kind smile, compliment, or small gesture. Most of the time though, I’ll use humour. I think making people feel comfortable and laugh is my biggest strength, one I carry with pride. My quick wit and animated storytelling rarely fail me.

Some Fun Facts:

I have a deep love for Halloween and horror despite being very easily spooked — just ask my toaster; I jump every time toast pops. I have an irrational fear and distaste for baby corn; it gives me the heebie-jeebies. And I’m learning to grow and learn in new ways every day.

I've come a long way from the child I was. I was incredibly shy and introverted — I hated public speaking or even just being called on in class, even when I knew the answer. If 7-year-old me saw everything I’ve done now and heard about some of my strengths, she would not believe you. The fifth grader, who cried when her teacher told her she’d volunteered her to do divisional speeches because I hated public speaking and was a nervous wreck prior to presenting in front of my class, was pretty good at faking it, so good that she then spent four years making proposals to present in front of lecture halls and doing open debates.
